Our teams play a crucial role in assisting with the care and treatment of critically ill or injured animals.
Key Responsibilities:

• Triage and admit emergency cases
• Provide nursing care to critically ill or injured patients, ensuring consistent evaluation and monitoring
• Demonstrate proficiency in advanced hospitalization care and continuous rate infusions (CRIs)
• Perform in-house laboratory procedures
• Skillfully place intravenous (IV) catheters
• Conduct accurate and detailed patient rounds
• Safely restrain fractious and frightened patients
• Obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR) measurements and maintain medical records
• Recognize situations requiring immediate attention from a veterinarian
• Act as an advocate for both the patient and client Basic Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or 3 consecutive years of Veterinary Assistant experience in an Emergency Room/Critical Care Unit (ER/CCU) setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, and professional courtesy while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other related calculations
  • Hold or obtain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)Work Schedule:
    • Full-time position
    • 4/10 schedule
    • Flexibility required, including some holidaysCompensation and Benefits:
      • $25.00 - $40.00 hourly plus shift differentials.
