Home > Postdoctoral Scholar in HIV and NursingPostdoctoral Scholar in HIV and NursingLocation:UCSF School of Nursing, 2 Koret Way, San Francisco, CA 94109, United StatesJob Posted Date:November 3, 2023Postdoc Positions at UCSFPopulation:NursingA postdoctoral scholarship position for nurses is available in the Next Generation Nurse Scientists Ending the HIV Epidemic training program in the UCSF School of Nursing, funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research (T32 NR020776, Dawson-Rose and Santos, MPI). The goal of the program is to train a diverse cadre of nurse scientists in research methods to lead efforts to End the HIV Epidemic. This training program is delivered within the UCSF research-intensive academic setting, with extensive opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration with entities such as the AIDS Research Institute, the Center for AIDS Research, and the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, along with clinical settings that include the original San Francisco Model clinic Ward 86 at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.Postdoctoral scholarships will be 1-2 years depending on progress. Scholars are expected to participate actively in all aspects of the training program, including weekly program seminars, grant writing courses, and an advanced quantitative methods course in SON or in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and are expected to submit a K-type grant application. Postdoctoral scholars will be expected to participate in their mentor's or other program faculty member's research through a research residency each year. However, the choice of their research involvement will be targeted to expand or enhance their previous research experiences. The goal is to provide increasing depth in their HIV research expertise and grants management experience related to HIV.Scholars receive a monthly stipend based upon years of experience (UCSF negotiated rate). Tuition for coursework is available as needed, along with travel funds, and up to $2,500/year for childcare costs.Job Requirements:

  • PhD in nursing or a related field.
  • Must be a nurse.
