The Role:

As part of the North America Sales team, the Business Development Manager will be instrumental in maximising sales growth through developing and maintaining business relationships in your assigned region. This role requires a results driven individual that is able to implement an effective sales approach that establishes and strengthens client relationships, grows market share, improves the customer experience, and works cross functionally with global peers to leverage best practices.

This position provides the opportunity to represent a premium brand with a different and better product that has unrivalled in quality, craftmanship, and customer care. You will be well supported both domestically and from the UK Head Office with marketing, lead generation and other tools needed to be successful in the role.

You'll be building solid and profitable business relationships with distributors, contractors, architects, specifiers and a wide range of customer segments.

This role will entail travel and will include overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop business relationships whilst upholding brand reputation
  • Work within the regional team to hit and overachieve regional sales targets
  • Identify and build relationships with key strategic distributors, managing appropriate merchandising and product training staff
  • Visit contractors and developers on site to help with best practice for installations
  • Present technical information and solutions to architects and contractors, and supporting negotiation where appropriate
  • Working with Lead Generation, Internal Sales and Projects teams to optimise regional sales
  • Conduct annual reviews and annual planning with distributors and customers
  • Continually develop industry knowledge, regulations needed and product knowledge
  • Work with marketing to maximise potential and gain market insight
  • Complete weekly KPI reports
  • All other duties as assigned Your Background and Experience:
    • Previous experience of face-to-face selling / presenting is required
    • Previous experience in building product industry and working with distributors is highly preferred
    • Sales target and customer centric driven
    • Practical knowledge & understanding of construction processes would be an advantage
    • Able to build relationship with clients
    • Open and honest attitude to all
    • Willing to learn and develop, with a self-starter mind-set and an enthusiastic 'Can do' attitude
    • Proven ability of meeting and exceeding internal and external stakeholder requirements and able to demonstrate the ability to achieve objectives and exceed expectations
    • Ability to adapt and respond to change
    • Self-motivated with initiative to continue improvement through communication and teamwork
